Personal is a small data security application that allows users to store and share confidential information.

Problem

Personal did not have qualitative data about how their users were behaving. This left a gap in knowledge that affected their ability to prioritize features. 

Objective

Gather intelligence on how users interacted with the Personal mobile app

Process

• Developed tasks for remote usability session

• Observe testing sessions

• Report quantitative and qualitative data to stakeholders

• Communicate suggestions for improvement to stakeholders

Personal wanted to update the design of their Android application but had not undertaken user research or usability testing on their multi-platform product. It was the perfect opportunity for me to pitch the product manager on the idea of allowing me to set up a remote usability testing session with Usertesting.com. I wanted to deliver an easy win and the information I gathered from the sessions was critical to the redesign work as well as a demonstration of the need for continuous feedback.
